My first notated and performed work. Written for The Vancouver Chamber Choir's 2009 Young Composer's Competition where it won first place among the elementary/highschool category as well as receiving a Best of BC Award.

The piece is based on two words: "merry" and "woe," where merry forms the outer sections of the piece, and woe forms the conflicting middle section.
